The Sunday School is a spiritual organization functioning in all the parishes of the Malankara Orthodox Syrian churches across the world. The Orthodox Church lays great emphasis and importance in educating children with the values of Christian life, the contents of the Bible and the Church history. It takes care of the spiritual nurturing of the children, by bringing them up in the knowledge and fellowship of Jesus Christ and His Church. The Sunday School of our Church started functioning 45 years back and it now has more than 1600+ students, 120+ dedicated teachers and support staff, operating in 2 shifts.
The Academic Year is from January to December. Classes are conducted from Tiny Tots to Grade 12. The minimum age for admission is 4.5 years. Sunday School in our church begins after Holy Qurbana on Sundays until 12:30pm and the Evening Shift is between 4pm – 6pm following by the Holy Qurbana.
Our Sunday School is affiliated to the OSSAE-OKR (Outside Kerala Region) and in UAE, we fall under the UAE Sub-Region. Half-Yearly Examinations are conducted in May and the Final Exam in November/December. OVBS is conducted every year and the Summer Camp is held in the month of August. In-house cultural competitions are held between April – June followed by the UAE Sub-Region competitions in October. Our Unit also conducts the “Talent Day” in the month of October every year.
